Humans fail me. They are undependable. They lie, cheat and steal. They are dishonest. Children grow up. Spouses wonder. Friends disappoint. Sisters and brothers betray. Parents take advantage. Pets are loyal to whomever has the better food. Co-workers are true to whatever signs their paycheck. Partners are only good for dancing. The pope is fallible. Religious leaders can’t be trusted. Politicians are corrupt.
For me, there is no human love.
The only true love I have experienced in my lifetime, is the love I feel towards God and Jesus. God is always constant. He is always there. He is always the same. God is the same today as He was in the beginning. I can always depend on Him to love and comfort me. God is always there to answer my prayers. That doesn’t mean that I will always get what I want nor will I never feel any pain. Because if you read my first paragraph, you will quickly learn that my life has been filled with much pain.
Jesus loves me. Exactly as I am now, before and in the future. He is always forgiving and understanding. He always gives me a second chance. He is always there to pick me up, hold my hand and lead me on to a better path. God giveth me my daily bread.
God and Jesus is love.
the suffering of dissappointments that leads us to appreciating Gods loyalty to us turns out to be a blessing. All around me are people in the journey, struggling their way to the light of the Truth about Love.
