My Local Nortre Dame de Paris.

I don’t have to travel far if I need a Parisienne fix. I just have to head to my local downtown area and visit one of the local churches here.  Instantly, I’m back in Paris, walking along the Seine River and notating the many hand-carved, granite gargoyles that adorn Notre Dame. Our local church (pictured below), although NOT Notre Dame still has that French feel.  Our church, which was built in the early 1890′s, has that unmistakable European feel, thanks in part, to the many European immigrants who settled here. They brought many of their construction talents with them and utilized them.

Our local bakery bakes croissants fresh daily as well as serve steaming hot cups of cafe-au-lait.  We also have our very own authentic Paris Bistro (tres chez expensive) which I am hoping to finally indulge in dining at my next anniversary celebration.

I had a lovely day, walking about town, taking in all the French-like sights, croissant and cafe’ in one hand and toting my camera in the other.

Enjoy!
